Brad is the Founder and CEO of Altimeter, a leading technology investment firm based in Silicon Valley that manages public and VC investment portfolios. Brad has worked in technology for 25 years - as a securities lawyer; a founding principal at the VC firm General Catalyst; and a three-time Founder. He was born in Indiana, studied at Wabash College, Oxford University, Indiana University School of Law and Harvard Business School. He has personally participated in more than 100 IPOs as a sponsor, anchor and investor. Brad’s notable VC investments include: Zillow, Snowflake, Mongo, Bytedance, Hubspot, Cerebras, Tabular, Anduril, K2 Space, and OpenAI. Brad’s investments have earned him a place on the Forbes Midas List—recognition for his work in shaping some of the most impactful companies in technology. Brad is a a notable commentator on CNBC, X, and the BG2 Podcast where he & Bill Gurley co-host a bi-weekly conversation on all things tech, markets, investing & capitalism. Brad is an active voice in Washington where he started his career and where he is working on issues connected to AI, DOGE, and a legislative initiative with significant momentum called Invest America - investment accounts for every newborn which increase graduation rates, financial literacy & align every young person with the upside of America. Brad is also a former deputy secretary of state of Indiana and a pilot.

Philanthropy
Brad’s impact goes beyond investing. Through his foundation, Invest America, and his funding of initiative to dramatically decrease heart attack deaths by raising awareness & availability of Calcium CT scans. Brad also funds his family foundation Give Forward, which is focused on public education reform, poverty relief and other initiatives aimed at giving more kids a shot at the American dream.
